Robert Vos, Ph.D., discusses how GIST can be leveraged to solve problems with urban sustainability given the growing populations in cities. Examples covered include the use of GIS in transportation and in making urban watersheds more sustainable.
Later, Leilei Duan, Ph.D., presents on the use of 3D GIS in urban planning, including the integration of GIS and Building Information Modeling (BIM). She discusses indoor routing applications and 3D analytics and visualizations, including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR).
