Do students need to take the GRE exam to be admitted to the certificate program?
Students applying for the master's degree need to take the GRE, but applicants to the certificate program are not required to take the exam.
How are courses structured?
Courses have both an academic (75%) and a technical component (25%). The academic section consists of completing exercises, papers, projects and required readings. The technical component introduces students to a variety of geospatial software and data acquisition systems.

Will my diploma specify that this is an "online" degree?
No. You will receive the same degree as our students on campus.
How long is the program?
The program can be completed in 12–16 months full-time, or 24–28 months part-time.
When can I start?
As soon as you'd like – there are three start dates available in the fall, spring and summer semesters. An admission advisor will be happy to review the various start dates and help you select the timing that works best for your schedule.

Do international students need to take the TOEFL exam?
International students who have successfully completed a bachelor's degree in the U.S. are not required to take the TOEFL exam. All other international students coming from non-English speaking countries are required to take the TOEFL exam.
